I want to sell an highly customized Colt new servive revolver in 45 but I have no idea what it might be worth. According to the serial number it was made in 1937. It looks like it has a Python styled front site assembly and a 4 inch barrel. It has diamond polishing on the trigger and hammer. I was hoping some of you Colt guys out there could help me.
Thanks!

In my opinion it'll be worth whatever you can get. It's worth nothing to collectors since it's been altered. But as a shooter it's still a great, heavy duty gun that'll last forever.

I'd guess the value to be somewhere in the $400 to $450 range...or about the same value as a used GP100 or something similar.

A good way to get a value is to list it on GunBroker with a really high reserve. Let it run for a week at a time for a few weeks and see where the bids go.

A 'New Service' with a ribbed barrel?

I think that's part of the "customizing". Looks like that's the Python barrel the OP was talking about.
