View Full Version : Remington opts to stay in NY
ILION, N.Y. — Remington Arms will be staying in the Mohawk Valley for the foreseeable future. Two days after sources say Remington Officials met with three State Senators and three Assembly, U.S. Congressman Richard Hanna announced that the Pentagon would be awarding Remington an $80 million contract.http://www.wham1180.com/pages/localnews.html?feed=122742&article=11042313

Money fixes every problem, right?
Nothing new-sellouts as usual..
Why bother with the people when they get a fat .gov check....

Good.......now they won't need anymore of my money, ever again.
Made me wonder what Mossberg might do considering they're based out of Connecticut. Found this video where they admit they've been thinking about moving and already do a lot of manufacturing out of Texas:

Remingtons are over-rated in my opinion. Only one I own is a 798, and they didn't even make the thing. I did buy a remlin(marlin)1895GS recently, and that will be the last of them for me.

Remington hasn't made a goddamn thing in decades that I'd buy.
So a company doesn't spend millions to move because the state they are in made some shitty laws and now they are bad guys? If that's the case any of you that say that and aren't moving out of colorado are hypocrites. Maybe they are sticking around to try to change things in NY, I know a lot of us are sticking around CO to try to change things.

Although I am aggravated at the situation here I am willing to hang until 2014 and see what we can achieve.
Screw these transplant legislators, this is MY native state.

Let's ignore the contract they received and act like they give a damn about changing things. A statement other than "hey government money" would have gone a long way towards clearing things up.

Business can have a stronger impact on stupid laws. NY is already inhospitable for business with the regulations there. There are plenty of states willing to take them, and it would have an impact to the local economy there. Instead, they sold out for a gov contract.

I have 2 remmy's that might go up for sale soon...fking pussies, their the main supplier of pump shotguns to a vast majority of LEA's, and bloomberg needs somebody to protect him...
Why would the gov care if Remington relocated or not?

I've got a 700 BDL that my grandparents gave me in 1973 and a 700 ADL from 1997. Last Remington anything I'll own.

I'm sticking around to see how 2014 goes. But I'm also making plans to roll on outta here in case the Marxists maintain control.

I bet NY cares. Maybe they pulled some national strings (award of gov contract) to get Remington to stay.
So who is the worse guy here? Remington for staying for a contract, or NY for pulling strings and throwing cash at what they claim to hate?

Well if they're government guns I think NY is ok with it.

Ditto.
