I have one of these (http://www.shadowopsweaponry.com/products/181-dpms-ar-10-lower-receivers-so-308d-308-win-sniper-rifle.aspx)on order. I've built all my AR15s, and I'm wondering what parts are different between the two platforms.

Obviously:

Barrel
BCG
Upper
Magazines
Dust Cover

What else? Barrel nut? Trigger group? Buffer tube, recoil spring and buffer? Magazine catch? Bolt catch? Charging handle?

Need to start ordering parts, but to do so I need to know what's in common with the AR15 and what's not.

Thanks!

O2

Off the top of my head, here are the parts that are the same as the 5.56 platform.

Fire control parts (hammer, trigger, etc)
Safety lever
Grip
Receiver end plate
Buffer tube and castle nut
Buffer retainer
Gas block and gas tube

I probably overlooked something.

The armalite AR-10 barrel uses a slightly longer gas tube than the DPMS lr308 barrel (gas ports are at different locations). For a DPMS build the gas tubes are the same length as their ar-15 counterparts. For an armalite AR10 build using an ar15 gas tube will bring you up a bit "short".

No disrespect meant, but I find it hard to believe that Armalite would use a non-standard gas tube on their rifles. Seems a bit silly since they probably already have gas tubes on hand to go with something totally custom. I could be wrong though.
