Went to the range at Cherry Creek today to introduce my dad to the AR and GSG...we had a great time...put about 5 or 6 mags of .223 through the AR, then decided to switch over to the pistol side and put around 300rds or so through the GSG-5 and AR with my new Ciener kit...

The GSG was fun and we had an audience come watch us every time we used it, had a few people ask about the silencer on it, and the range officer on duty even went into detail about how he'd prefer the pistol version because he could just throw a stock on it[Eek3][Eek3]...We were having trouble figuring out where the bullets were going, so I took it back to the car and spent the rest of the day using the AR...man it was fun as hell...threw on the carry handle, set the sights to mechanical zero and wouldnt ya know it it was right on target...quite a few bullseyes, and for the cash on .22 and the total lack of recoil we had a great time...[Ban3]

BTW, we were at WalMart (the one on Chambers & Parker) to get some 9mm ammo for the XD (which saw no action today :D) and while we were standing there with another guy waiting for the guy at the register to get our ammo, he just upped and walked away[Rant2]. About 15 minutes later we finally manage to get him back and unlock the case for us and ring us up...talk about craptacular service...

whats the total cost to go out there for a couple hours?

$8 to enter the park, $15 to enter the range now...but that gets you in and out as many times as you want all day...I think if you buy a season pass to the range (a couple hundred dollars last time I checked), you get entry to the park and the range for the year...should pay for itself in a dozen trips or so...

They've increased to $15 now ? I hope my older 3 range pass is still good.I bought a year parks pass and usually buy a 3 range pass when I need one, this seems more cost effective for me than joining the range itself for a year. JMHO

During hunting season with a plethora of individuals sighting in it can be common place depending on the range masters on duty.
