Why would you go to a a gunshow to commit suicide?

vendors wife commits suicide outside of show ? sounds like she wanted to not only hurt him but his business and industry , thus making a selfish act even more so .

The investigation is still underway, I'm sure.

Perhaps the husband killed her and made it look like a suicide.

You just never l know.

Or maybe I have just seen too many of my wife's crime shows.

One of my biggest fears is I will come home from a trip to the range and find my wife dead and my hands will be covered with gun shot residue.

You've obviously never had to explain the presence of trace amounts of gun powder on your favorite backpack to the wonderful folks that work for TSA at airport security.

Helpful hint.... Don't travel with the same backpack you bring to gun shows and use to carry around gun powder and ammunition.

Just saying.

And Ice-T will be all over your case since you probably had rough sex with her before leaving for the range. [LOL]

Im so glad you brought this up. I'm flying next month for the first time since I got out of the military. I'm sure all my backpacks have been to the range at least 10 times and would light up their system like a Christmas tree. Buying a new backpack tomorrow!

I had the unfortunate experience of having to explain why I had trace residue of HE on my clothing one time. THAT was not fun. Even after I supplied credentials which provided a legitimate explanation, it was still an ordeal. Plus, they confiscated my shampoo.

I had my camera case and lens case test positive once and I've never even taken them to the range -- but they HAVE been in the trunk with my range bags. It was pretty quick and painless for me since the TSA employees could see pretty clearly that my SLR and lens were functional and NOT explosive containers but the only time I've ever pinged their sniffers.

Sad situation about this woman. There's plenty of help out there if a person will only seek it. Suicide in never a good solution. Very sad.

I don't want to sound insensitive, but are they sure it was a suicide and not a robbery? I mean after all, legislation has passed making obtaining firearms much more difficult. The media is only going to report what the authorities tell them...and personally I don't trust either!

I went through LAX two days after the underwear bomber, using my range bag as a carry on. When I got home, I found a half dozen live rounds in it.

I just spoke to a friend/vendor at the show. There was an argument earlier between another vendor and his wife, witnessed by several regulars. Wife went to the truck, pulled out a .44mag, and blew her head off.

[edit] For the sake of clarity, argument was between husband and wife (vendors) at the show yesterday during setup.

I think friend mentioned one of the other regulars who was setting up next to them heard the whole thing. But I do not know what was exchanged, just that they were arguing.

Seek help and lose your gun rights. It is a sad place where this country is and is headed.

My condolences to everyone touched by this sad death.

Just like a woman, has to get in the last word!

I feel for her husband though.

Lots of compassion......???

why provide the anti's more fuel for the fire?

Some of these are embarrassing. The desire to own and enjoy firearms, need not over rule human decency.

Go ahead and flame away.

Go ahead and flame away.compassion for the husband ,family , and others that were put off by a very selfish act yes , but not the person that committed the act . sorry but there are very few cases where suicide is ok

At least she only shot herself. Imagine the field day the anti-gun media would have had if she 1st went on a shooting spree before offing herself. Glad she was selfish and didn't share lead with others.

thats so sad suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem

its also probably the most selfish act you can commit as a human i feel bad for the husband who probably said some stupid shit in the heat of an argument that he will have to live with for the rest of his life

Back in the 90's I flew several times with a C4 satchel bag as carryon. Never even got a second look even though the OD bag had "C4" stenciled on it.

I have a couple of friends that opted out. It was an act of cowardice, and selfishness. They were not thinking of the mess they left behind, or the anguish that the family goes through. What I originally posted was mostly in jest, but partly serious. Unless you are terminal, in pain, and no quality of life suicide is the cowards way out.

I could also smoke and carry on knives too. Most of us have been in the airport and went shit! i HAVE x IN MY CARRY ON.
After my mom's funeral we're walking up to security and i'm [facepalm]Carrying a knife the kid gave me for carry in ny. Told her i had to dump it and sh'e like Ok that one sucked now replace it!. Just like her mother.

ANYWAY back to the suicide. Up side is she took herself and no one else.
DOWN SIDE is the fine line we as gun owners walk because of the knee jerk reactions lots of people, ESPECIALLY the medical field, whan it comes to guns.
