Ok, so I decided in August to get a firearm and that lead me to thinking if Bin Bama takes office I need to get on the ball.

So far I've gotten:
G32 w/5 hicap mags, a LWD 9mm conversion barrel and 5 hicap G19 mags

RRA AR15 w/14 30rd mags, picking up 6 more this weekend and about 1k in rounds.

Ruger 10/22 w/1 10rd & 1 50rd mad, thinking the 22lr is a very common round and its cheap.

I've come to a cross road though on what to get next......

Do I get a no frills shotgun like a 870 or a 590a1, get another AR15 or at least a few lowers?

Get another pistol, like say a G26, G19 or a G17.....or maybe a Ruger 22/45 or Buckmark 22

Or just concentrate on what I have and stock up on hicap mags and ammo?

What would you guys do....

Cheers,
J

I would go with more ammo and mags personally. Don't forget parts, collapsible stocks, "shoulder things that go up" :D ect.

I would avoid the shotgun for now, those will likely be considered "sporting/hunting" firearms and will be good to go in the future.

If you've ever considered an AK, i would put that on the top of my list. Very little talk about gun control from Obama this election season, but he even mentioned the AK by name as something that doesn't belong on the "streets". If you have an interest in AK's, i would secure one before Jan 20th, 2009.

Another AR is never a bad idea. Lowers are cheap and plentiful for now, can't go wrong there. The problem with a lower is, as i understand it, they were nothing more than paperweights after the first AWB. They needed to be complete rifles. Of course, the burden of proof lies with the ATF/.gov, so ymmv. I'm planning to stack at least 2 more lowers before the end of the year anyways.

Another school shooting, or shooting on a massive scale and i would not be surprised to see a hi-cap mag ban fly through congress without a fight.

Ammo could be taxed, it could be considered hazardous to the environment, who knows. I doubt prices are going to come back down, so stack it deep.

As for pistols, another interesting topic. Maybe buy hi-cap mags for pistols you potentially want later down the road? I don't think they'll ban pistols outright, but rather go after ammo capacity.

Of course all this could become a moot point in the future, no one knows.

I'd have to agree w/Mtn.man...

Grab ammo, ammo...ammo, and then a basic shotty...Mossberg or Remington as your budget permits. Just my .02

Reloading components will be invaluable. Powder and primers
