View Full Version : 1903 A3
I was wondrring if anyone knew somebody in SE Denver area who could take at look at my rifle and put value/grade on it. I have been looking at other peoples rifles and think my springfield is in very good condition, but I'm no expert.
Yessir! Contact Chuck Moline, he works on USGI rifles exclusively, and specializes in M1903/M1903A3/M1903A4 and other bolt rifles. He also does parkerizing, bluing, stock refinishing, repairs, modifications and complete restorations. Nice guy to boot. He did an outstanding refinish of the metal parts of my M1 Garand, and he does contract work for the CMP as well. I've been there when UPS brought him a bunch of stuff from the CMP.
He's not in SE Denver though, he's off Federal, north of I-70. Within walking distance of Rocky's Autos, if you know where that is.

Thank you, I will get in touch with him tomorrow and tell him you sent me. I know right where that is. I'm mobile just didn't want to have go to springs, or limon, if I could help it. More curious than anything.
Good luck, and tell him I said Hi. I have a damn nice '43 Remington 03A3 that I got from a member here in a trade, I need to haul it up to Chuck and have him tell me about it as well.
Ask him to show you his M1903 "carbine" that he made, it's pretty cool. He took an M1903 with a worn-out muzzle and shortened it back to good rifling, then shortened the wood too. Said it shoots surprisingly well, considering he just did it for a lark. Cute lil' thing. Sorta like a Mosin M91/30 vs. a Mosin M38.
Went in there just to see what I had, then everything was apart, 2 hours had gone by, and she was a smooth running machine with more of the right pieces for WAY less than I though. Hell, the conversation & education were worth the price.
Thanks again, and I will recommend him every chance I get.
Glad to hear it man, glad to hear it! I need to haul mine up there too.
