First the good news...Background Checks Fail (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/gun-background-check-measure-fails-senate-vote-2013-04-17-16912854)!

Now the bad (not shocking) news...Harry Reid is a loser (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/17/harry-reid-assault-weapons-ban_n_3100164.html)

Hopefully we can vote him out in 2014

The vote was 54-46, with supporters falling six votes short of the required 60-vote threshold.

The Senate is proceeding to several other amendments, but the failure of the background check proposal authored by Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Pat Toomey, R-Pa., imperils the entire legislation.

Obama has been snipped. He lost this, if this attack in Boston turns out to be by a foreigner then immigration will fail, and he's basically lame for the rest of his term.

So they'll just keep trying till it passes or EO. Once the left takes control we're all SOL.

If the votes were there, we'd lose everything right down to a Daisy BB gun.

The left Has Control. How they wield the sword determines how fast we sink in to darkness.

I wish these people didnt just act on selfish terms and actually checked the statistics at the bureau of justice which are statistics that are employed BY THE GOVERNMENT, that they never wanna tell the left winged.

Background check bill killed!

Sen. Dianne Feinstein's "assault weapons ban" amendment fails with 40-60 vote in the U.S. Senate

"The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill," Obama said. He said the claims "upset" some gun owners who in turn "intimidated" senators.

WTF [facepalm]

I was going to edit this post but I still dont even know what to say..

Beeho's speech afterward was priceless. He basically threw a tantrum on national television. Furthermore, Uncle Joe was nearly in tears. Big win for 2A supporters, but we cant let our guard down...

Glad the amendment failed, but 54 Senators still voted to infringe on our rights.

They will continue the attempt to subjugate the citizenry

A short list of RINOs to remember:

"Only four Republican senators committed to voting for the amendment ahead of time. The last was Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who announced his support Wednesday afternoon. The other three were Toomey, Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine."

I don't think he is up in 2014.

Reid only voted against the amendment because it was going to fail anyway and doing so was a procedural move to allow it to be brought back later.

Reid and Obama's plan was for this to sneak past the Senate so all of the pressure could be heaped on the House. Remember Barack's talk about wanting Nazi Pelosi back? If it made it to the House for a vote then all of the Demonrats could vote NO and he could wave his arms in the air saying "See!! The Republicans don't care about dead kids!!!"

Amen!
I'm kind of reminded of the Dark Knight on this... Imagine Wayne or even Chuck Norris saying to Obama "They [senate D's who voted "Nay"] just proved they're not like you!" Suck a fat one Obama and Fecalstein.
