One stop shopping for Colorado Purchase Laws

I need some help please. I'm active duty military and am a Florida Resident. How do I purchase a gun in today's crazy political climate? Everything I read from the ATF, the NRA, and the Colorado gov sites states that I have to be a Colorado Resident or a resident of an adjacent state. Also, from what I read in the trading post, I have to be a resident to execute a FTF sale. Big 5 wouldn't sell me a shotgun on sale because I'm a Florida resident. The only gun transaction I've completed is a purchase from Pennsylvania that I had Blucor Shooting Center handle, and that went fine except that it overlapped into the $10 background check passing, so I had to pony up $10 extra, but no biggie, I got my rifle.

If someone has a link, or anything, I'd really appreciate it. I've got until January before I get transferred, and I've got my eyes on some new toys!

Are you on active duty with orders that post you in Co? I am pretty sure that you can use those to establish residency.

Long guns you can do with just your state ID, handguns will require a copy of your orders.

Copy of your orders showing permanent duty station in CO. And military ID, and you shouldn't have any problems, with the exception of the uniformed jerks at the Big 5 stores....

What SideShow Bob said. I was a Florida "resident" for tax and voting purposes when I was A/D but allowed to purchase guns as a Colorado resident (and make sure you say Colorado on the 4473) by showing my PCS orders and a current Mil ID.

In the case of a FTF sale, unless they're uber paranoid, your ID (sometimes your orders) and this should suffice:

As Baglock1 and SideShow Bob stated, all you need is a copy of your PCS orders assigning you to FT/AB "jackass" and your .mil ID card, and you'll be good to go. Some dealers might ask you for a DL too but no big deal. As long as you are a member of the .mil pursuant to mil orders you are good to go.

If you have some sort of bill with your address on it, that would be a good thing to take in addition to what the others stated.
