Domestic violence

I have a freind that has asked if I would like to rent a room from him for pretty cheap but here's the catch he has a DV on his record. So as you know he's not allowed to own or purchase guns. So I'm wondering if I'm allowed to have my guns in the house and if I would have problems getting my CCW. I couldn't find anything on the net. Also I have a gun safe if that makes any difference.

He's not a felon so why not? You application for CCW has nothing to do with who you rent to. Nor is there anything on any form asking, DO YOU RENT TO SOMEONE WITH A DV CHARGE.

The one question i ask is.................. Do you trust this person
ok 2 or 3 Is he honest, Is he prone to outbreaks of violence
Was the DV charge a serious incident or one of those he tossed the tv out the window and the GF or noisey neighbor called the cops.
OR did he tune up his spouse because she told him we need to make cuts on our spending.

Yes you will be fine but Jims advice is great. If it was a one time thing that was a BS charge then I wouldnt worry about it but if he is unstable and questionable I would want to live there if I had firearms or not

I totally trust the guy I've known him for years he just had a crazy ass girlfriend a few years ago and now he is paying the price

Put your guns/valuables in a safe. Don't trust anyone.

get a safe, and make sure it can't be demilled in a couple minutes...

Convicted of Misdemeanor Domestic Violence = No guns or ammunition. That's by federal law.

I don't see where this addresses the living with a prohibited person but here it is anyway-

If I was renting a room from anyone I would lock it up.

Hmmm, thinking this will go as expected in the end, surround yourself with people who will elevate your life, i dont see this doing this for you

Like I said I do have a safe currently so that's not a issue
