That is by far one of the worst things I have seen. May this person burn in hell
Wow that's sad to see, who ever did this is a total jackass.
I'll never understand the compulsion to destroy just for the sake of destruction. Shooting road signs, smashing mailboxes, etc. all seem inconceivably childish. Destroying a piece of history is absolutely beyond the pale.
Disgusting! heard a story tonight about how a friends girlfriend was walking her lil 8 week old weenie dog/shitzu pup and someone purposely swerved and hit it. Kept on going.... WTF is the world coming to?
Sad but not uncommon. Take a look at Wolfman wall and there are multiple calibers on the wall. Stupidity knows no bounds.

Graffiti on wall art really pisses me off.
:(
Some people are just buttholes.
Saw something similar out in Canyonlands. Don't remember what it was called, but I want to say it was Library rock or something like that. Huge rock slab face (like 10ft x 10ft) that had paintings/carvings on it. It was destroyed by years of tourists.
Same thing goes for caves. Every time I go to Carlsbad, they stress the importance of NOT touching the cave formations with your hands/skin. And yet I have to yell at multiple kids and even adults for doing just that. It pisses me the hell off when I see that shit!
Unacceptable.
Eternity of hell worthy? No. Unacceptable nonetheless.
