I did build a small BBQ pit out of a propane tank once to mount on the fender of a trailer. It turned out pretty good. No pictures though.
I think the thickness of the metal of a propane tank makes the perfect grill. Have to fill it up a couple times with water before you take the grinder to it though. :-DQuote:

I put in a baffle inside to make the smoke burn and also make the top surface hot to cook on. It was fun to build and got me back into welding a little. We have since painted it with black stove paint and made a wood handle for the door.

I've wanted a double-barrel stove for years, but don't have a place for one at the moment. I worked in a small machine shop that had one, and it really put out the heat (when the cheap bastard would actually buy some wood). But that shop was just a tin covered pole barn so it didn't do much good. In a decently insulated shop, it would run you outta there.

I finally picked up a 55 gallon drum to make a stove. Who knows when I'll get around to it. I can't weld, so probably never.
It is a 50cal one. I am going to make another one from a 40MM can next. He wants to get a teepee tent so he can winter camp with his stove in it. We bought some more stove pipe and it now has a four foot stack on it.Quote:
