The part about automatic approval or shorter times seems like a pipe dream to me. But I would love to have a quicker turn around on forms once you've already had one approved.

What they need to do is not make it a stamp requirement. Its asinine considering the pistols we have today. I get back in the day when they had low capacity handguns but now we can have Ar pistols etc.
I know fundamentally and on principal I shouldn't, but I'd be fine with just the normal BGC and $200 auto-approve stamp for SBR/silencer.

I live in a shall-issue state for CCW, and the deadline for them to issue is 90 days (granted I got mine in 18 days). Are you still okay with a 6mo or longer wait? Frankly the SBR/SBS section of the 1934 National Firearms Act should have been removed when they removed the ban on handguns from the bill to gain passage (originally handguns would have been treated like full auto ... $200 tax stamp and registration, but it was doomed to fail so they yanked the handgun ban out. The SBR and SBS language was in there to prevent people from cutting down rifles and shotguns as a loophole to get around the handgun rules. Once the handgun ban was removed it just became a stupid and arbitrary law).
