Just checked the weather forecast for the area I plan to hit up. High of 55 and 60% chance of thunderstorms.
Am I bit nuts for still going?

No, just make sure your not "exposed".
You might rust.
Be prepared with proper rain gear and you're good to go. Some of the best fishing is when it's raining...I fear not the rain. But of course I have the proper gear for it.
Meh, I almost never bust out the pants and I've rode out many downpours. Get the $10 poncho/pants rig from Walmart or wherever "just in case" it gets so bad you need pants. Then you'll be covered. I've had the same emergency poncho/pants rig in my pack for a few years and never had to use it yet. My standard rain jacket is usually enough. But...it feels good to know that I have the extra layer if needed.
I am up at my family cabin in Estes this weekend. We had a couple good poor downs today and it may rain again tonight. But it is beautiful. if you go early in the AM you should be good
Stepping out between 6 and 7 tomorrow to get the trailhead at Moffat Tunnel (https://plus.google.com/108800611815...=s&hl=en&gl=us). Should be about 1.5 hour drive for me. Then going to try for Heart Lake about 4.5 miles West by S. West. http://www.protrails.com/trail/india...and-heart-lake
Which means it is time to rack out. Got some walking to do tomorrow.
Got rained on. And soaked. My Eddie Bower WeatherEdge Plus jacket lets rain through.
Looks like you lived. Time for a hot toddy to heat yourself back up I think.
