Write your local reps about HR 45

After all this scaring with the HR 45 and still unknown to us whether it is inlaid in the stimulus bill, we ALL need to write our reps.

I will make it very easy for you:

Take a look at the first link which is a bill written by Bobby Rush, a state rep. for Illinois. What his bill would do if passed is require all firearms to be registered. All new guns would need to be registered from the date of signing. All previously owned firearms would have a 2 year amnesty period until they would be required for registration. On top of that tests would be required at any given time and have a mandatory date to be finished. A license would be required similar to a drivers license to own a gun. Fees would have to be paid for each gun each year. A 3d facial image of each gun owner would be required to be in the database as a byometric scan. If any of these lapse of fail the individual becomes an instant felon and would be sent to prison.

I hope you let them know you do not want to be a felon, you don't want your family or friends to be felons all because they own something which is guarenteed by the founders of this country.

I really want to write, or call my reps, but I am at a loss of where to start explaining my feelings. Can we generate some discussion on good talking points?

I can't just call a guy and say, "Hey, I think this government stuff is retarded!"

Here is what I wrote them:

I write you today in disgust. I recently reviewed H.R. 45: Blair Holt's
Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 sponsored by Rep. Bobby
Rush. After reviewing the details of the bill, if this were to pass you
will have millions of hard working honest Americans become felons. I am
appalled something of this nature can even be written by an elected
official let alone be considered. I am sure you will not even come close
to considering this bill as you are my elected official. Americans are
having problems with money, having problems keeping a roof over their
heads and this kind of legislation should be laughed at. Bobby Rush
should be removed of office for such a ridiculous bill.

I ask you as my elected official to respond back to me and assure me you
will not consider H.R. 45 and will fight to make sure this bill is tossed
out. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to act for the people who
elected you.
