So if you have a CCW permit, you will be able to just pick up a gun from a gun shop without having to wait for the back ground check?
-
better get on this quick guys. I posted this a little while back. It gets voted on tomorrow...the 16th.
make some calls and leave messages tonight or call first thing tomorrow morning.
Yes you go in, fill out the paperwork as always but just show your CCW ID and you are done. walk out the door with your new gun.

I have emailed each representative on the list asking them to support this bill and reasons why. Thanks for the update!

Not to burst anybodys bubble but that would be illegal under federal law. In order for a cwp to exempt you from the background check it must be issued by the state.
CO cwp are isseud by the sheriff therefore under federal law do not meet the requirement. Even if it passes it means nothing and FFL dealers will still be required to do a background check under federal law.

Since a state background check is required for issuance of a concealed permit in Colorado, doesn't having a permit imply that a state background check has been completed, regardless if it is county issued?
-
Feds trump state, thats how it goes. We have let this creep in over the years.

Glad I picked up a Utah permit a few weeks ago. It also covers Nevada as a close state not covered by CO.
