Top 5 songs about death...
Ok, I'm stealing this from the movie High Fidelity but my immediate response to the scene was 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" (it didn't come in till like #4 with them)... Not to mention, at 43 I'm kinda pissed I even heard the lyrics to "tell Laura I love her", I should have been spared that as a child. Not to mention the movies 'Threads and Das Boot' along with the accompanying tests my Dad made us take, but hey we deal with the cards we've been dealt.
I've come to replace my #1 with "Life fades away" but that's me.
All of the songs mentioned in the movie were old, are there any new ones that should be in the top 5 or even top 20?
Back to the Edmund Fitzgerald... I think this is the best lyric.
"When suppertime came the old cook came on deck sayin'.
Fellas, it's too rough t'feed ya."
At seven P.M. a main hatchway caved in; he said,"
Fellas, it's bin good t'know ya!"
