It always cracks me up how these leftist/anarchist kids have come to admire Guy Fawkes as some sort of freedom fighter, when he was simply trying to establish a Catholic Theocracy in England.
If they think about it at all, they think they're supporting his pro-blow up parliament and the monarch policy, while turning a blind eye to his substitute a different other monarch and parliament policy.
Mostly I think they're pro-fireworks and bonfires, though.
I thought Che was the guy that founded Chipotles...
To me, Nov 5th is not about left or right, or even necessarily about fireworks. To me, Guy Fawkes represents the spirit of dissent and revolution, and that is something that I will remember, remember.
Tell me again why we should celebrate England almost becoming a Theocracy by force? How exactly does that line up with free or libertarian ideals?
