If the educational system had kids who could read, the need for pictures would not be necessary.
Totally believable. I would've been disappointed if liberals hadn't said something stupid about a "No Guns" sign with a silhouette of a gun on it.
Let me see if I understand this:
1) Federal Law has prohibited guns in school for quite some time
2) To get an new Illinois CCW they require 16 hrs of training
(One would expect the "No guns in schools" aspect would be covered in the training, right ?).
3) Because of the new CCW laws, the state wants everyone to display an authorized "sign" reminding them that there are no guns allowed in schools.
4) If the schools have metal detectors, the guns will be detected prior to entry with or without the sign, and the issue will be addressed.
However...
If the schools do not have metal detectors, and someone does not bother to read or obey the requisite "sign" (and laws), guns will easily find their way into schools.
So, please help me out, I must be missing something....
The sign does "what", again, to prevent contraband firearms from being brought onto school property ?
[Sarcasm2]
Note: I thought the "picture" method was to be "language neutral" and to have a sign that addressed both English and non-English speaking persons, instead of having several notices, written in a variety of languages.
Will it never end??? And these are the persons that are supposed to educate the next generation? Well, I have less years in front of than I have behind me, maybe I will be dead before the Idiocracy takes over everything.

I'm quite sure the the IL law specifically prohibits schools, it blocks most every public place, so the sign is redundant. The federal law does have a state level override though.
