2014 Jeep TrailHawk ?
Hey guys, any educated input on the Jeep Cherokee TrailHawk? Thinking of getting one! Please pardon me if this has already been a discussion on the forums but I did search for it.....and Im a Newbie! Thinking of getting the 3.2 V6 winter package and Uconnect? Your input is much appreciated!

Just looked it up, 9 speed auto tranny sounds interesting, looks comfy. With that said, I see nothing "trail" about it. Personally the only real Jeep still produced is the Wrangler. I suppose it depends on your intended use, if you are just seeking a smooth comfy DD it may be perfect, but I wouldn't take that where I take my Tacoma. Sorry no educated response from me, only opinion.

Thanks for the feed back Hurley, Jeep does clarify it as "TrailRated"...but with better mpg with the 9 speed. I wont be doing any hardcore climbing with it.....but I could if I wanted to : )

You do realize "TrailRated" is nothing more than marketing, right?
As long as you're not doing anything more than a dirt road to the trail head your ok, but if you're gonna wheel, get a wrangler.

I was behind a black one the other day. I saw the badge and the rear tow hook painted red. Looked like a lot of marketing to me.

If you plan on doing ANY trail riding I would consider something else. The new Cherokee isn't much more "trail rated" than a subaru outback. Do some research on the platform it is based on and you will see it is just a big car with Jeep written on it. I'm not a jeep fan but the new Cherokee is a disgrace to the name.

Well I hope it can do a little more than a dirt road to the trail head but we will see! Not looking for a Wrangler as this will also be my travel vehicle....I grew up In Wyoming and travel there often!

To get the trail rated badge, they claim the vehicle has passed all of their test categories on the 17 mile rubicon test trail. Watch the video here:

btw, you can buy a trail rated badge on eBay for $30.
