From Sandy Hook To Seattle[/B]
If there's anyone who understands the heartache families in Marysville, Washington are feeling in the aftermath of Friday's shooting, it's Nicole Hockley. She lost her 6-year-old son in the massacre at Newtown Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary. Now, she has a message for Marysville.
By coincidence, Hockley happened to be in Seattle on Monday evening. She's here to support I-594, a new control measure that will soon be voted on by Washington voters. The trip was planned long before the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, but she's glad to be here during this difficult time.
She says the images of student running from the Snohomish County high school instantly took her back to the day her son was killed.
"Even just thinking about it now, I can feel my heart start to accelerate," she said. "It still shocks me and sends me right back to the terror and anxiety that I felt then, and knowing what these kids are going through and what parents are going through."
