Democratic Party racism in the 20th century
We're still in the age of required liberal arts credits for degrees, and as such I find myself in a 20th century world history course. Professor is a self-professed Democrat who has somehow managed to include Bush-bashing, Reagan, Ted Cruz, Romney, et al. into his spiel so far. I haven't punched him yet, and I've been calling him on his bullshit (calling the dean on Monday to roast this shambles of indoctrination). But I'm going to stick with the class, since it's a three weekend accelerated segment for four credit hours.
Topic paper is on Democratic Party racism in the 20th century. I've already got a couple of books and plenty of articles, but would be glad to use any academic sources you have on hand. In other words, blogs and the like are inadmissible, so I'm looking to stock up on published, cite-able sources to absolutely crush the Ds with. LBJ, Robert Byrd, Jim Crow laws, the Klan, you name it. The more the merrier.
Thanks to any and all contributors.
Democratic Party racism in the 20th century
I would try to look into recent examples. History is history but Dem's also say that things have changed. I would focus on things like why Dem's pride themselves on social programs which enables people to live off govt. instead of on things to help them advance. Things like that. Keep it recent.
Or start with the history and how they were racists and how it's changed to a different form.
