I can do the same thing with some rice in a bowl, and I get to re-use the rice. Way cheaper than what that machine will cost. I have done this four times with the wife's and the daughter's phones with 100% success.
Meh...I've had good luck using highly concentrated alcohol to get the water out, and then dry air to get the alcohol out.
The little "chamber" he puts it in is literally a presto pressure cooker. He must have just put it in a pelican case to make it look all cool, and a bulkhead fitting to some tubing which is hooked up to an air pump. Creates a vacuum in there and voila!
