I'm thinking this could be kind of a cool part of my AR-7 kit once I get my can ...
Forget it. It sits on the bbl, not concentric to the bore. I had one similar for a 10/22 off to one side would be an understatement.
Wouldn't that pretty much kill the ability to put the barrel into the stock?
It fits on the muzzle with the front sight going in that slot on top so doesn't interfere with mounting the barrel to the stock. I was hoping perhaps they manufactured it tight enough to be concentric to the bore. Other option is a new AR-7 barrel with a threaded muzzle for $87 but then have to put a front sight on it.
I'd go this route, which if I had known was out there (hadn't really looked) I'd probably have had an AR7 a while ago. The lined plastic barrel thing just doesn't cut it in my book.

I think we're talking about different things... I was referring to when you disassemble the rifle and put the parts (receiver, barrel, and mag) in the stock. I just took out my AR-7, took out the barrel from the stock, slide a 380 casing in the hole, and reinserted the barrel. I was not able to put the butt cover back on the stock. I think you would run into the same problem with this adapter. I have an older AR-7, so maybe the newer ones have more room in the stock for this case.Quote:
