Cool concept. Wish they didn't charge so much for water in this state.
Hell I'd turn it into a cool (as in temperature) place to sleep at night.
This is awesome. If only I didn't have frakkin' cables/pipes/wires/etc running every six inched through my yard, I'd definitely have a root cellar.
Does it need water? Can I bury this on raw land with survival food stocked inside?

Even without the water, for storing canned foods (store bought and home canned) would be wonderful!
I'm pretty sure this will freeze come winter.
Its perfect for mild climates with a surplus of water.
Building a storm shelter out of a pre cast septic tank like you see some places along the highway would be roomier and I'll bet cheaper. I doubt anyone over 5'8" would find that comfortable
Cheaper still to burry some plastic sewer pipes of an appropriate size
How far down does the ground freeze at this elevation though? For the most part, we don't sustain a hard freeze for more than a few days at a time.
