Oath Keepers in Ferguson

Intriguing.

I read that an hour ago. I'm intrigued and understand where the Oath Keepers are coming from...but I also have concerns.

I don't have a problem with the intentions of the group. What I have a problem with is the assumption it's the police who are the ones prone to unnecessary violence in Ferguson. I'll be honest...without more information my opinion of Oath Keepers has dropped a notch or two after reading that. Then again, I haven't had time to put a lot of thought into it. Maybe that opinion will change.

I don't see why they shouldn't arm themselves and protect their own community. They have the same rights we do assuming their backgrounds aren't criminal and prohibit them from owning guns.

I agree, and believe this is what the Oath Keeper in the article was trying to impart.

Whatever the intentions of the Oath Keepers are, they aren't going to have an easy time trying to spread their message. Anything they say can and will be used against them in one way or another.

It should be interesting

If an Oath Keeper see's a cop arresting a black person, what are they going to do, point a weapon or open fire on the police? Let me know how that works out for you. Good idea, bad execution.
