Man, I've messed with WP a bunch but I wouldn't take on a project for someone else.
There are a ton of help forums on WP that I've found super helpful.
The girlfriend is fluent in square space might be able to offer some help
I hate WP with a passion, so I do very little with it.
But, I hope someone is fluent in it and can help you.
WordPress is insanely open to attacks, word of warning. My company uses it and every single day we get pounded by Ukrainian hackers trying to brute force their way in.
