Looks like some that fork out a couple grand, when applying for tags, won't be required to lend the State the money for a couple months.

Hmmm, sounds like it's going to be a lot harder to get a tag then.
Sweet! Going to start putting my oldest in the draw this year. Hopefully she can get a moose tag before I die!!
If we don't have to pay the full amounts I'm guessing so many more people will now apply for the tags. It usually costs me over $800 for all of my tags I put in for initially but I get checks in the mail a few months later. This definitely won't help the chance to draw tags to me.
You, me, or anyone else. Point creep just turned into point blast off.Quote:

Costs continue to raise...
I for one was not in favor of the parks department and wildlife department combining.
And I still am NOT
I feel there is some commingling of funds going on
basically most recently are fees - habitat stamps and application fees - minimal increase in tag costs for in state res.
The state CO continues to try and come up with some rationalization to increase in-state license
stand by for more changes. I've read that the CDOW&P is entertaining the idea of raising the $3 app. fee in the near future. The number of applicants sky rocketed for all species this year since they only needed to front $3 to apply, so the state is now licking their chops thinking they can raise that $3 up to 10, maybe $20 in the near future and bring in even more funds on the backs of the hunters.
A coworker told me that he got his bull permit in the mail recently - along with another P&W envelope. When he opened the second it was....his bull elk permit, again. This new system sent him 2 of the same permit.
While he plans to go to the local P&W office and let them know, we both commented on the fact that an unscrupulous person could very well use both of the received permits and harvest 2 animals.
This new system needed a lot more testing before going online.
