I don't have one to reccommend, because I've never heard of a good one.
Be prepared for your attorney to do everything they can to get you to settle out of court. They work with the insurance angencies - meet in court on many cases - not against them. They get kickbacks for settling, which requires less work on their part and they can make their money through quantity of cases vs. quality.
YMMV
Best of luck.
I've heard Backus & Schanker (sp?) have some pretty fair attorneys. I've never used one.
Is there a source for attorneys getting kickbacks for settling out of court? I very highly doubt that is the case, it's just less work for them.

I read the first four links. Every single one is about kickbacks from crooked doctors and chiropractors, not insurance companies. Anyway, I don't want to otherwise clutter up this thread.
The Pearman Law Firm, RamosLaw, BurgSimpson, McDivitt Law and Bachus & Schanker are well respected firms that I have knowledge of being good for their clients. There approaches might be a little different, and I really can't suggest one over the other for several reasons that factor into choosing one over the other. I have been in the offices of two of them this week working on cases for their clients.
I'd write down their numbers, make an initial call to each and talk to them. You might get an attorney or a paralegal. Realize that paralegals do most of the case work. Those firms I listed, I have spent hours with their paralegals working on cases. Pick two, and go to an in person about your case. You are interviewing them, and they will be interviewing you. If the answers come back about the same, well, you know.
Best of luck.
Thanks for all the info and PMs.
Can't help on the legal side but Peter Burg is a great guy. Have worked on his house for years.
