I need to find out if a resident alien can get a CCW? He can buy a gun but can he pack it?
You get your ccw via your local sheriff.. i know the Boulder County Sheriffs website has the rules laid out on it.
My wife is Canadian and has a green card. She was able to get her CHP. She needed to take in her green card to the sheriff with her application.
Green card and i551 can get ccw and purchase firearms.
Just head to your county sherrif's website and download the info packet. It's essentially the same for all the counties.

I found it for Adams county. (Adams County again!!!) but they said as long as the person is a resident they are G2G. I will tell him to take his green card with him just in case.
Telling a legal permanent resident to take their green card, just in case, is like telling a gun owner to bring bullets to the range, just in case. They know the drill because they live it every day.Quote:

It is also great way to +1 a potential 2A suppoer who are potential voter after obtaining naturalized citizenship.
While Fudd/Anti-2A/libs protest, I will continue to push 2A to people who are first time firearm buyer and/or ones who will become a naturalized citizen.
