Yep, that has been the story for a few years now.
Wish they could coordinate the timing - I keep committing to the CGCA Show and missing the Cheyenne Wells Shoot.
Ah well, Ben Lomond still allows full auto.
Last year really turned me off on Cheyenne Wells. That can't control the rain but you can tell who their favorites are by who go the high ground and the better targets. Plus the night shoot was an absolute joke. Took about 3-4k of tracers to only get about a mags worth down range before they called ceasefire. Will save my $$$ and head to Big Sandy.
My experience being out there a couple of different years, and their promo video on their website, have turned me off as well.
I get that it's the middle of nowhere, but it annoys me to no end that they allow/encourage aiming up with tracers at night, to allow seeing the trace longer...
That's the antithesis of safe firearms handling.
