I could use a beach vacation. For diving we had a bump stick loaded with a .444...pull the pin & push against the attacker. I never seen it used.

We used a 12ga version... called a bang stick, with an elastic band at the other end, used to launch it like a spear... shell would be pushed into a fixed firing pin, and bang... you lose your hearing.

Not to be confused with a boom stick, primitive screw heads!

I'd say this is a fairly accurate statement but I counter you with the fact that alligators don't care if you're wet or dry and many of the southern beaches have alligators somewhere nearby.
