Its that time of year again.

People placing target holders on the highways.

The plastic cardboard signs are perfect for stapling targets on. Easy to dispose and super cheap, as in free.

It is 100% legal to remove political signs abandoned on public right of ways. Just don't trespass on private property.

And don't worry about the optics if you only remove certain ones...

Time to upcycle them into a better product - target holders?

I hear that recycling is good for the environment.

I've often wondered about the legality of doing that (to use for the same reason you identified).

To me, anything left on the public right of way is litter (unless it's been put there but the .gov/hwy dept.).

CDOT frowns on those target holders placed in the right of ways. Please help the debris crews clean them up.
Just make sure it is within the ROW fences & not outside on private property.

I called the sheriff's office last year about some at 470 & Quebec. They said it was litter and can be cleaned up by anyone.

They said make sure its on the right of way.

Sounds like the equivalent of asking the ATF for clarification on every new firearm related idea. If they are not in someone's yard, TAKE THE DAMN SIGNS FOR MARKSMENSHIP PURPOSES.

Honestly, those plastic signs are the best 100y zero targets; way better than cardboard backers.
