Hello all. I was given some linear comps for my birthday, but have never installed one. I have always run A2 style or no flash hider.Do I just thread it on and go? Do I need a crush washer. Here are pics of what i have. gong on Odin works barrels in .223 Wylde. Thank you in advance for the help

doesn't look like it has any ports on the outside of the comp, which means you don't really need to time it, so no need for a crush washer.
If you wanted to "time it" so that the branding was in some specific orientation, then you'd use a crush washer for that.

I would go with a strap wrench over a spanner to tighten it down. If the strap wrench won't grip it put some eletrical tape on the comp and give it a try.
Always use suppressor shims to time a brake or compensator, that way you are assured of correct axial alignment.
You only use a crush washer on a flash hider, axial alignment is not a critical factor on a flash hider.
No need for crazy torque to hold it on, Beast is correct about a strap wrench or in a pinch you can use a web sling.
A drop or two of red Loctite will hold it in place.
Won't the heat defeat the locktite?
I think 500 degrees is what it takes. It would be interesting to take the temperature of the end of the barrel and see how hot it gets.Quote:

More than a few companies use it to secure their QD/Suppressor mounts.
Rocksett is the preferred fixative for QD/Suppressor mounts.
Why places don’t use it is beyond me, it’s cost is about 1/100th of Loctite.
