I read about this on foxnews.com but I can't say I knew who the man was.
Are there any outstanding examples of his work I might be familiar with?
Oh, man. :( That's really sad.
One of his best-known and appreciated books is "Parliament of Whores," and what you need to know is that he used satire to get his point across. He was a brilliant man, with a very sharp sense of humor.
He's written dozens of books and used to be the Editor in Chief of National Lampoon. At one time I'd have considered him our generation's Mark Twain or Will Rogers (but he's more of just a right leaning baby boomer that tells a lot of dad jokes about politics :p )
He wrote some pretty brilliant stuff for the National Lampoon in the 1970's. My favorite book of is is probably this one:
