243?

I am planning a tax money purchase and I need some adivce. I want an AR in 243 so I could use it for antelope/deer etc also. It will be mainly a coyote rifle though. Is 243 the most economical choice for this? I see like the camo remington ar25 but I dont like the price. I do like the dpms also and I seen them online at a fair price with the 20" heavy barrel. What would be my best bet for lower end rifle, with cheap enough to shoot ammo. I havent been into any shops yet looking since I wont have the money till next month, anybody carry these in stock or are they special order? Thanks.

If you want to use it for big game and 'yotes, I'd consider going with an AR platform in .308. Ammo will be more readily available, "plinking" ammo will be available, and you'll have more bullet choices. Plus if you ever want to go elk hunting, a .308 isn't a bad choice (where I'd say a .243 might not be the best.) Magazines will be more plentiful for an AR platform as well, and you'll have more overall rifle choices.

I considered the 308 and it wouldnt be a bad choice. I dont know what kind of price tag they carry though?

I'm sure you could find a good one used for under $1000. New you can go up as high as you want.[ROFL1] Either way you'll have a wider range of choices in rifles/uppers.

Rocky moutain shooters supply on Mulbery has one of the rem AR in 243. I didnt look at the price sorry but they do have one.

Ok, 243 is great for yotes, and other vermin...I would push for something in a fal platform. DSA has some good gear:

Whether fal or ar, both are good, don't forget about a browning bar or remmy 7400. In your shoes, looking for a 243...get the dsa! I own 2 in 308 and want a third in 243 to burn up some barrels.
