Most of the firearms I've seen on gunbroker seemed overvalued.
I use gunbroker to look at the actual sold listings for price comps.
You have to sign in, connect to advanced, and then select Completed Items, and enter a description.
Then I sort by number of bids high to low in order to get to the ones that have sold.
I have bought and sold, but that was a few years ago.
I got some good deals, and I had a couple of deals where the actual firearm did not live up to the descriptions.
When buying these days, I like to hold and inspect the firearms.
I've bought a few firearms off of Gunbroker and also some reloading components.
Looks like BladesNBarrels got ya directed as how to go about getting ideas on prices.
Me too.
I have used it several times to buy but you have to be careful not to catch "auction fever" and go over budget- especially with credit card fee and shipping plus your local FFL's fee.
I haven't used it to sell anything yet because of the fees but for rare or valuable items, it's a great way to go, especially if you can time the auction to end on a weekend evening where guys are more likely to have had a couple beers and are less resistant to the aforementioned fever.
Still a good source for average pricing of a firearm and good images, if provided.
I use it to search for items for sale in CO, which has been helpful when I'm looking for something specific, and I use it to buy mags / parts / random stuff that's hard to find in stores.
I've never listed anything for sale, all those items go to you heathens and the random guys on Armslist.
Never sold, purchased a fair amount and I check the completed auctions frequently when there’s a particular item I’m considering. Over all these years I’ve had one purchase where the gun wasn’t as advertised and the seller wouldn’t make things right.
I bought a 22 revolver that looked good that gas zero rifling and keyholes at five feet! Learned a lesson.
