I have had good luck with Garmin brand. I just bought a Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 as it has the lowest profile, iPhone is necessary for it though.

I have a Cobra brand I bought last Christmas which seems nice but it's never actually been tested in a real life scenario. I don't know if they have one that fits your requirements.

What does a dash cam need a cell phone for?
Interface to review video and photos. Some have built in GPS that you can use from your phone. Updates to the camera happen through the app on your phone. Etc.Quote:
