Del Taco has closed its restaurants in Colorado.
The phone numbers are out of service and online ordering has been shut down for the chain locations in the state as of Thursday morning. Del Taco operated 19 locations in Colorado.
Last June I was hired to do mold testing in 9 locations in Denver and the Springs. One guy owned all of them (and I think most of the 19) and was selling. The buyers were concerned about mold since many of the buildings had water issues- mostly roof leaks.
Makes me curious as to what happened. Did the sale fall through and the original guy bailed or did the new owners screw up? I'll likely never know...
And don't really care since every time I have eaten there I was disappointed.

I think that’s the general consensus and why they’re gone… nobody really ever goes more than once as far as I’m aware. I know I’ve only ever gone to del taco exactly once, and it was trash.

Huh, I ate at a Del Taco yesterday, 1000 times better than anything you get at Taco Bell not that that's saying much. If this is true that's a bummer.

Del Taco was owned by a company that went bankrupt after losing financial support. There are some hefty outstanding bills left unpaid.
The one in Grand Junction is owned by a different franchisee that's still open, if you've got a powerful hankering...

Bring back Del Taco and bring back Casa Bonita's old food! I'm weird but I liked them. The new Casa Bonita food is junk. I'll never go back! :)
