going to haiti!

i am leaving soon for haiti to work, for money. probably cant bring a gun. i understand the risk of disease. i will be sleeping in a fenced area in a tent on a cot for about 3 months. does anyone have any insight or usefull information? i am a little nervous, i hear they resent americans.

Good luck, and watch your 6. I bet you'll be a nervous wreck by the time you get home, I sure as hell wouldn't go. All that work to do, all that money to be made, and they're bringing in outsiders instead of hiring the starving, poverty-stricken locals that have lost God-knows-what? Yeah, probably a little resentment there.

the boss has to employ more haitians than us. putting us in position for training and supervision. haitians get 10 bucks a day! definitely risk involved. i have a wife and 2 kids.

i need the work and money.

im supprised they wouldent let you carry a pistol or something to protect yourself. if i was going over i would want somthing in my contract saying i can carry somthing.

i dont know if i can bring one or not. i will find out.

What kind of work are you doing...? what kind of security are you offered for you tent/cot? im interested for my own personal gain, as long as i can protect myself/am protected(by people more pro than i see myself...)
