Hip55's MKII4B Project
Here is the Ruger MkII4B (4" Bull Barrel) that I recently bought -

My plan?
New grips and a halo sight for starters!
I ordered 3 additional Ruger mags, Hogue wraparound grips (with thumb rest) and a Weigand 1-Piece Weaver-Style Scope Base, all from Midway and a Sightmark SM13003B Mini Shot Reflex Sight ($39.99 w/free shipping) from Ambient Outdoors -

I received the upgrade parts and got to work. [Alrigh]
First was to install the Hogue wrap around rubber grips - I really like these on my pistols -

Before I removed the stock grip pieces-

And with the grips installed -

Next was to install the Weigand 1-Piece Weaver-Style Scope Base -

I tapped the rear sight out after I loosened the set screw -

And then installed the mount base (it goes into the dovetail). My mount piece needed to be filed some to fit.
This is before I installed the base set 1/16th screws with blue Loctite -

Then I installed the 7/64 allen head screws with blue locktite -

Then it was time to mount the Sightmark Sure Shot Reflex Sight - the package -

There are 7 brightness settings and 4 recticles -

Installation was very easy with the included allen wrench.

A few pics installed -

I put my LaserLyte boresighter in and easily set the scope to zero -

After I got the basic zero down I packed up my range gear and headed off to shoot it for the first time. I got to the range and it was unexpectantly closed [Rant1], so I have yet to fire the MK24B - I'll report back when I do!

Wow, looks like something James Bond would have - but only if he were cooler :)
