Why do we celebrate this Catholic Terrorist?
I love how the little anarchist kids don their Guy Fawkes masks like he's some sort of champion of freedom when in reality he wanted to kill off the British government and turn control of England over to the Pope. Next he would have started rounding up Anglicans and exterminating them :p
That and the rhyme is about how the plot FAILED.
I have never understood the fascination with him, or the movie.
Had he done his thing post Marx, He would be considered a lefty agitator.
As far a "V for Vendetta" goes, Has anybody actually watched that,
beyond the action sequences?
The underlying plot is He is doing his stuff against a Right wing, totalitarian, Police state government.
Can anybody cite me a historical example of a Right wing, totalitarian, police state government?
That movie is on of the finest examples of leftist propaganda I have seen in a long time..
That's too easy Marlin, I was going to say Fascist Italy & Nazi Germany off the top of my head.

Quote:
Regimes approximated as totalitarian have developed in the twentieth century through new techniques that mobilize entire populations in support of the state and a political ideology. The main examples of regimes considered totalitarian are Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin. Totalitarian systems, however, may not be as monolithic as they appear, since they may hide a process in which several groups—the army, political leaders, industrialists, and others—compete for power and influence.
