Hornady Dies
I aquired a set of Hornady New Dimension Dies recently and when loading some 80 grain A-Max bullets I get this nasty looking ring around the top of the round. It seems as if the die "hangs onto" the bullet after seating when I am lowering the ram.
Has anyone had similar issues with these dies or do I have a bad seating die? I was previously using run of the mill Lee dies with no real troubles and thought I was trading up.
Maybe I am being too picky but at 600 yards I need all the help I can get.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

That little ring isnt a big deal and switch to Redding or Forester Competition seat dies.

Thanks Hoser. Forster on the way...

I would also call Hornady and see what they have to say. You will like the Forster Die. They are top notch.

Buy Forster benchrest dies and throw the Hornady dies away. I had a set of .308 Hornady dies that a competent barrel maker declared to be factory defective. I returned them to Hornady (at my expense) and never heard from Hornady or the dies again. Good thing they make good bullets.
