and what he is REALLY saying is that the Second Amendment rights of the citizens to defend themselves are outweighed by the fears of the politicians of an armed populace.Quote:
Asked why he believes the bill passed this time, Byrd responded, "To be honest with you, I think it's some of the newly elected people who are running on this platform of removing all government regulation regardless of the impacts on society. And so I guess, staying consistent with that position, this is just an outcome of those views."
So the police groups think NOT passing this law (i.e., NOT following the COTUS) will keep criminals from being criminals? If someone can't pass a background check, there's a reason for it. I'll bet "dangerous people" is not clearly defined in any state statute, i.e., extremely subjective in it's definition and application. They'd be breaking the law either way.Quote:
Representatives from some Wyoming police groups have testified at committee hearings against allowing concealed carry without a permit. They've said it could encourage dangerous people to carry guns who wouldn't be able to pass a background check under the state's existing concealed-carry permit system.
Either we are citizens or we are subjects....I'll opt for the former and face any challanges that may come with it.
Bravo Wyoming!!! Colorado will follow suit shortly....
Ok so this is a dumb question! If i was to visit any of those 4 states, could i conceal carry with out a permit or is it just for the residents of those particular states?
WTG Wyoming.
Hopefully I dont get flamed for this but I support these bills with a condition. You should have to have successfully completed a firearm safety course before being allowed to carry. Leave out the whole long drawn out background check BS they currently require that involves weeks of waiting and just require that someone have a card issued by a certified firearms trainer.
