I thought that this only made it to the debating phase and was shot down like all the crazy anti-gun legislation that never sees the light of day. I certainly hope so, at least...
They will have a grand father clause for those that already have them , and prevent any one else from further purchace. If not they will have to go door to door which they won't do!!
I am pretty sure they are still accepting public opinion or it just recently closed.
as of now, saiga 12 gauges can not be found and the prices have jumped a couple hundred to about $750 for a new one.

In the past you had a short grace period (30 days?) to register them as NFA. After that if you are caught with one in you possession it's $250,000 and or 10 years. There was no door to door but a few people have had problems because they had them without papers.
