Just asking opinions, no names.
After two days of "negotiating" an offer was sent.
The reply......
"Sounds like a fair deal to me, man! I'm up for it if you are!"
Is that a yes?
A commitment?

sounds like a yes to me ... its not really a commitment until they're standing in front of you with an outstretched hand full of cash.
I know you're talking about me, and I would be more than happy to discuss this with you, and you can use my name.
Someone else had sent me an offer so I was negotiating with that person as well. I did reply with that to you, and then shortly after before you replied saying yes, I sent another message stating to you that I wanted to give the other person a chance to reply as well. You hadn't said a final yes at that point, nor did we arrange a meetup or anything.
I apologized, but I felt it was fair to both parties involved. And I apologize again for the situation... Sorry that I didn't say earlier in the process that I was waiting to hear back from someone else as well. I should have said that, and like I said, sorry about that...
Quick edit to this: I didn't reply publicly because I want to "win" a he-said he-said, or anything like that. I just wanted to post my side of the story, and since you hadn't replied to other messages, Pickedup, I wanted to try and hopefully clear up any confusion and let you know I'm sorry that the situation didn't work out. I'm not gonna pay any more attention to this thread, because I don't want to turn it in to a back and forth between anyone, and again, that's not why I replied.
I had a deal not long ago where the possible buyer got pissed at me because I sold item to someone else, when he NEVER gave me an "I'll take it", only expressed interest and wanted to see it. Then sent me snippy posts after I sent him a note saying it was sold to another. I think until both parties exchange notes saying, "I'll take it", then an "It's yours- when can we meet" or the like- it is still open to change. It sounds to me like ghettodub did kind of commit to the sale?, but then before pickenup responded, got another offer of some type. It's really pretty borderline, but it seems no intentional issue on ghettodubs end, and it sounds like he did update you with the info that someone else was interested. These things are likely to happen occasionally on these email commitments, where there can be considerable time lag between messages and/or exchanges. What if any of us "committed" via email to a sale, then right in the midst of message exchange- another party entered the fray offering $100 more for your sale item? Or maybe a better trade? Prob hard for any of us to turn down.
What is there to discuss?
The facts.
On 5/24/2011,
I sent you a PM about a firearm you had for trade/sale.
We exchanged numerous PMs that day, working on a deal.
On 5/25/2011,
We were still negotiating.
We worked out a deal that was acceptable to both of us.
At 11:20am that morning, your reply to my offer was....
"Sounds like a fair deal to me, man! I'm up for it if you are!"
Considering I sent the offer, I was obviously "up for it" DUH
Later that afternoon, At 1:08pm someone new sent you a NEW offer via PM. Date and time sent, are on the post.
At 2:12pm you sent me a PM saying...
"I had an offer from another guy that I'm waiting to hear back on, and they both came in around the same time."
In a later PM you said...
"The guy who sent me an early offer finally responded"
In a thread I started, you said this...
"Someone else had sent me an offer so I was negotiating with that person as well.
The date and time stamps tell the tale.
Today, the new person posted feedback for you on the transaction.
A man is only as good as his word. You accepted the offer, THEN got a NEW offer, and backed out of our deal. I understand that nothing is 100% until cash or firearm is in hand......but....
I believe sellers ethics are pretty well covered in the thread in this link.
