I can't be the only guy on here that enjoys it, so how bout a thread to talk about it.
UFC, WEC, MMA, BJJ, Krav, whatever.
Anybody catch UFC 134? I think Anderson Silva sold his soul to the Devil.

The only fight I've seen was back in February when I wa at JRTC. I think it was a title match or whatever it's called. Regardless, it was the main event. Can't remember who was fighting, but the one guy kicked the other guy in square in the face and knocked him out. Sweet kick, but I was kinda disappointed. I expected more of a fight. Oh well.
Sorry the first reply to your thread was such an uninformed, disappointing post. I think maybe if I watched it more I could get into it. [Beer]
Been a fan of MMA since UFC #1. Started my son when he as 6 with Easton Brazilion Jui-Jitsu (Renzo Gracia student). He stuck with it for 3 years but turned it in for basketball. His teacher is Eliot Marshal, who had a role in the UFC tv show and fought a few times. If he fought like he trained he'd be wearing a championship belt.
I'm almost as much of an MMA junkie as I am a football junkie. I watch just about every chance I get. I haven't had the chance to go to a live event yet but seems like every month my TV bill has some pay-per-view event on it. While I really prefer the UFC, I have been watching a lot more Strikeforce lately too. Waiting for the day when the UFC gets a womens class going. The fight I would love to see the UFC make happen (even if it is a catch-weight bought) would be Anderson Silva vs. George St. Pierre. Both of those guys are running through their weight class and I would love to see them fight each other even if no titles were at stake. Either that or Silva needs to make the move up to light heavy-weight and maybe find some competition there. (I realize he dominated his one and only light heavy-weight bout but look who he fought- there is better talent in that division he could have faced)
Anyways, I am sure there are plenty of other MMA fans on this forum. [Beer]
MMA fan, Fighter, Instructor here. great fights last night, i felt bad for forrest
I like Strikefore too. There's been talk about a womens class in the UFC for a long time now but I don't see it happening since Strikefore already has it. I would think it probably doesn't make sense business-wise for the UFC to have a womens class since Zuffa owns both organizations now. But who knows . . . . I'd love to see a lot more of Gina Carano either way.
That would be a sick fight between Silva and GSP. I think they'd have to do a catch weight match (non-title) to make it fair though IMO. As far as the current 185 weight class goes, who's next for Silva? My vote would be the winner between Sonnen and Stann. And even though it makes me a wee bit nauseous to listen to Sonnen's rhetoric he's the only one who has even come close to taking Silva's belt recently so I'm hoping he gets a rematch.
I'm really looking forward to GSP vs Diaz. And even though the Diaz brothers are respectable role models ([Stooge]) I'm hoping that GSP dominates that dude. I'm also looking forward to Dos Santos vs Velasquez. It's really too bad that Velasquez's injury is making Dos Santos wait so long to take his belt. [Tooth]
I had to work early so I wasn't able to watch the fights last night. I looked up the play by play on Sherdog this morning though. Reading about the Rua vs Griffin fight made me have to search it out. I found it, watched it. I kind of had that embarrassed feeling for Griffin while watching it. He looked horrible. You think that was just nerves or what?
I like to go watch the local guys fight. Every now and then you are able to catch a glimpse of a fighter before they go to Bellator or UFC. We have some good training camps out here for guys (team wildman, grudge, ect), and some good venues to watch them at (ring of fire, fight to win, rmbb). The two local guys to watch right now are Brandon Thatch and Josh Cavan. Both have great potential. Word on the street is that Thatch is headed to the UFC after his last first round victory in ROF 41. Cavan will still be doing local fights for a year more before they bring him up. Tickets for these events are pretty inexpnsive and every now and they you can catch a really good fight.
I'm with ray1970, its tied for football with me. I order just about every MMA event there is and I always go to the local stuff. One of good personal friends is Brandon 'Rukus' Thatch and he's a local guy who I think has the ability to go bigtime. He actually just won an AR from Daniel Defense for winning his last fight.
