As it turns out, in Wide Receiver the fed actually worked with the Mexican gov't to follow the guns and track down the dealers/cartels (and even so, there are people that have been prosecuted for this op).
Seems that this administration used that operation as a blueprint, which they altered a bit to push other goals (like blaming gun violence in Mexico on US guns to restrict 2A rights).

Why am I not surprised ..........

They can try to deflect all they can. I don't think Issa, Grassley and the rest of the committee are buying it at all. They are mad as hell about this, plus I believe they are also handling Solyndra.
Key phrase to Wide Receiver- we worked WITH the Mexican government on it and it actually was instrumental in taking down some major players.

I knew it was. I knew the current administration wouldn't blatantly mess things up unless it was Bush's fault!
