Looking for help identifying this Enfield!

EDIT: I forgot to include that I am aware that it is a No 1 Mk 3, but I'm not aware of what all the other markings are. I should have clarified that when I put up the post.

All I've deduced is that it's a 1917, Birmingham built Enfield that bears the 18.5 tons per square " mark which it got when it was taken out of military use.

Everything else is just overwhelming. I can't find pics of any other rifles with thise many stamps.

I was referred to a place in the Springs called Leasures (sic) Treasures. I may run by there this week as well.

I can only help a little. The fact that it is marked ENGLAND, means that it was an export rifle. Presumably here to the states, since that's where it is!

That 18.5 tons mark was put there after it was test fired, to signify that it passed the proof testing load, nothing to do with being taken out of service. And those wacky Brits just LOVED stamping things all over their rifles!

What are your plans for it? Parts are available, and I could point you towards Enfield fanatics on other boards. I also have a 1917 No.1 Mk.3 I'm planning to restore. Kinda odd though, the "7" in the 1917 date was then overstruck with an "8", and you can clearly see both numbers. No idea why.

I would like to get one nice Enfield as an example. Mk 3 or Mk 4. Any suggestions?

Some of the stampings are asian, others are just weird as heck.

Thanks for the 18.5 info. I got some information off of an old thread on THR saying that was a "nitro check" or something like that they did to the older service rifles after they were taken out of service..

I plan on keeping it as original as possible, throwing some iron sights on it, seeing how it shoots and then if I get enough trigger time with it and I feel confident I'll take an elk with it next year.

The crown with GR under it is for King Georgius Rex(kKng George V) 1911-1936
The FTR means factory through repair-just meaning it was refurbed at the arsenal

Now on the receiver and barrel those markings are not asian-not that i can tell
One mark is a crown with crossed flags with a P under it states it was a land service rifle and the stamp with the crown with BNP are for rifles for export
