This is absolutely legal (carrying openly, no permit required, Correct?) Brainard Lake Recreation area, for example, Would I be legally aloud to open carry while hiking there?
I thought so because its National Forest property but dont want to do anything stupid, so I figure I'd ask.

CO is an open carry state you can carry in a city or any place for that matter.
Denver got a liberal judge to rule that they can post parks as no open carry zones for instance but other than that open carry as you wish. :mrgreen:
Just avoid the Nat'l Parks and you'll be OK.
thats what i figured. just wanted to make sure i didnt mix up national parks and national forests ;) appreciate the input.
although, the communist republic of boulder you can open carry... but the weapon must be UNLOADED.... now THATS logical... (that information was given to me directly from the boulder country sheriffs office who issue permits for the area).

Hunter- The sheriff's office said that certain municiplaties and certain cities can regulate open carry laws. She said BOULDER is ONE city that has stricter open carry laws saying the gun cannot be loaded. The rest of the state, however, abides by normal open carry laws. This was directly from the office that issues CCW permits. I'm just relaying information that I was told, and living in Boulder, I would NEVER open carry...Quote:
